Another great read from Robert Edmonson. A valuable addition to your management toolbox. Like Robert’s first book, “Multiple Leadership Intelligence” has encapsulated chapters that are topical and can stand alone, making it as much a reference guide as it is a management improvement book. The book takes us through many of the key challenges that all leaders face (business and otherwise). It addresses critical challenges and provides easy to understand solution paths. I recommend the book for leaders at all levels of the organization.

The solutions are I can guarantee that anyone reading it will get some insights that will help them manage their boss or a particular person or look at a situation at work considering many different views and perspectives. I have also been fortunate to experience Robert’s insights by working closely with him and he has had a significant impact on my life.”

“Robert has written another winner. The information in this book is mentally stimulating, brilliantly presented and useful to anyone who chooses to face the challenges of a rapidly changing world, whether in business or personal life. The examples and exercises are worthy of careful study. The book is wonderful in that most chapters can be read as a lesson with each containing a powerful message. I especially liked the D.R.E.A.M. Model in chapter 5. Robert not only makes you think, but shows you what to think about. If you read one only book this year, Multiple Leadership Intelligence should be the one.”

Examples like recruiting with an EQ framework or using solution oriented FeedForward methods, are real breakthroughs for thinking and leading in the 21st century. 6. Frederick Maury, Managing Director, TUV SUD Asia Says:

“Before joining the C-suite or the like you are expected to have all the answers in your field of expertise. To some extent the higher your IQ the more likely you are to be promoted to that long awaited management position.

Once you are there, in the C-suite, you are expected to have all the answers. What matters then is how talented you are at recruiting the right people for the right position, at building trustworthy relationship with them, at motivating them, at engaging them behind new initiatives…In short it is how talented you are at leveraging your EQ in getting people to achieve their best for the greater good of the organization. It is so tough!

This book offers comprehensive approaches to recruiting the right staff, motivating, engaging and leveraging their strengths. It is short on theories and long on solutions to help us face those leadership challenges so we can “get others to do what we want them to do because they want to do it”. Once again Robert delivers straightforward solutions that can be readily applied to day-to-day leadership challenges. It is a must read, on the go, whenever you need it.”

“Robert Edmonson truly understands the multiple challenges in today’s corporate world and delivers pragmatic, straight forward approaches to help leaders to successfully manage daily challenges – multiple responsibilities require multiple leadership intelligence.

This second leadership book is another empowering guide, providing solutions in an easy to read manner, underlined with many inspiring great real-life examples, whether you are striving for sales excellence or for recruiting the best or simply for building confidence and delivering powerful presentations.

I especially like chapter three, where Robert introduces powerful Storytelling as a beautiful and effective communication and presentation tool that motivates and persuades listeners by stimulating both sides of the brain.

Be forewarned, whether as an author or as executive coach, Robert does not only provide you with a blue print to increase your leadership skills; but he may influence and change your thinking to positively impact your emotions and as a result your actions – both at work and with your loved ones.”

  8. Brian Lau, VP Asia Sales Group, Celestica Says:

“Multiple Leadership Intelligence builds on the great topics in Robert’s first book “What Great Leaders (Should) Know”. It covers many soft and often overlooked dimensions of leadership. In particular, people will find the section on persuasive leadership / storytelling extremely valuable. One of the great challenges and opportunities in leading is simplifying complicated issues and being able to communicate them effectively.

The storytelling section demonstrates an approach that can be almost magical in its effect if done well. This was one of my favorite chapters. Readers will find this book engaging, penetrating in its insight, persuasive in its prose, and extremely powerful in the concepts it conveys. All leaders will gain and improve their leadership from this book. The quotes and wisdom from great figures in the past are priceless. “When I let go of who I am, I become what I want to be”. I look forward to the next leadership book from Robert.”

“In today’s chaotic business environment, traditional leadership has showed its limits when it comes to motivating people. Recent neuroscience findings have clearly demonstrated the role played by emotions and perceptions in people’s behaviour. Robert’s book addresses this new management perspective and provide leader’s with valuable tools and examples to develop their leadership and emotional intelligence.”

“There is no shortage of research and books on leadership. However, I found Dr. Edmonson’s book unique and insightful as real world leaders at any level cannot be successful with just technical skills. His book presented seven solutions that leaders could easily learn or simply refresh their awareness. It explained precisely and logically what leadership intelligences really mean and why they are important. As a leader, continuous learning and encouraging others is a must and reading this book has definitely enhanced my knowledge.”

With havin so much written content do you ever run into any issues of plagorism or copyright violation? My site has a lot of unique content I’ve either authored myself or outsourced but it seems a lot of it is popping it up all over the internet without my permission. Do you know any methods to help protect against content from being stolen? I’d certainly appreciate it.

The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod’s. It works well, but isn’t as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that’s not an issue, but if you’re planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod’s larger screen and better browser may be important.
