Cummins general manager Amit Soman had to adapt quickly when his company transferred him from Wisconsin to Beijing in 2008 and put him in charge of engine emissions business for China, India and other emerging markets. “The key is nimbleness,” Soman told students Nov. 19 at Thunderbird School of Global Management during a presentation organized by Thunderbird’s Emerging Markets Business Association.
