“We tell that talent to go home because we don’t want it to stay here”

The United States needs to rethink its immigration policies that hinder skilled workers from pursuing the American dream, retired Intel CEO and Chairman Craig Barrett said Nov. 10, 2011, during a keynote luncheon at the inaugural Thunderbird Global Business Dialogue in Glendale, Arizona. “We graciously invite the world’s best talent to our universities to get the best possible education, and then we tell that talent to go home because we don’t want it to stay here,” Barrett said. “I frankly think that is an absolute dumb decision.” Watch the clip below or the full speech here.
