Arabic instructor finds peace after discrimination, violence in Iraq

Thunderbird Arabic instructor Firdos Jawad, Ph.D., survived gender discrimination, political persecution and even gunshot wounds in Iraq. After attempts to resettle in Iraqi Kurdistan and Turkey, she and her family eventually came to the United States.
