Surprised by the beauty of Prague, Czech Republic

It’s 1:39 a.m. and I just got home ::siigh:: another typical day of intense workload and night of fun! (this is early actually…)

My name is Tavy Long and I am one of the 20 students doing the Prague module this summer. In less than one week, I will be in Beijing doing the China module, which I am ecstatic about! Although I am originally from Phnom Penh, Cambodia, I am pretty much a native of Arizona.

Meet student blogger Gabe Frank

Sunny afternoon in FrankfurtWASHINGTON, DC – I just arrived here in DC last week for my summer internship at the the Brazilian Sugarcane Industry Association (UNICA), which represents the Sugarcane Ethanol businesses in Brazil. It has been a crazy beginning of summer: finished my module abroad in Czech Republic, traveled for two weeks around Germany, France and Austria, and before I returned to the US I enjoyed my family and friends for 10 days in Sao Paulo.

A little bit about myself: originally from Brazil, I started my career at the American Chamber of Commerce in Sao Paulo, working with sales and marketing activities. In 2001, I joined the team responsible for partnerships with International Business Schools offering executive MBAs locally, and guess what! Thunderbird was one of the institutions that had initiated a program in Brazil.

That’s how Thunderbird found me! I had the opportunity to visit the campus and get to know several alumni in the US and Brazil, and I realized the school had a perfect fit with my profile.
