Caroline Martin has always been fascinated with human behavior, motivated to connect with people on an emotional level, and insatiably curious about culture and business. A BS from the University of Richmond in Business and Psychology led Caroline to the marketing and advertising industries. Her early career as a strategist within full-service global advertising agencies was focused on unearthing insights into consumer behavior that helped to direct the global and national branding campaigns for clients including the Wm. Wrigley Jr. Co., Jim Beam Brands, the Maryland State Lottery Agency, and Gaylord Hotels. There she honed her project management skills and learned how high performance can be achieved when an eclectic team works harmoniously toward the same goal.
Caroline’s passion for health and wellness, cross cultural studies, and public education influenced her view regarding the use of traditional marketing in consumer markets. She was motivated to attend the Thunderbird School of Global Management when she realized that strategic marketing tactics could be leveraged as tools for social change and education. Since attending school, she has worked as a Communications Intern for the Friends of the World Food Program, a Special Consultant to Tignum (a high-performance consulting agency), and a Research Assistant for the Global Mindset Institute. She is eager to combine her passion with her experience, and upon her Spring 2010 graduation from Thunderbird, Caroline plans to pursue her goal of becoming a social and cause-related marketing consultant with a focus on developing countries.
