Mike Byrne’s perspective on the world was forever changed when he spent a year as an exchange student in Sweden at the ripe at of 15.  Since then, his career and studies have taken him around the world to live and work with people that have further reinforced his belief in interdependency.  In the 21st century, humanity’s greatest challenge will be to live in a way that acknowledges helping the other, as helping oneself.

Professionally, Mike has applied this belief as a business manager with experience in small companies and NGO’s in the US, Middle East, and Brazil. His forte is project management in unpredictable environments.  Most recently as a scholarship participant in the 2008-09 USAID sponsored Emerging Market Development Adviser Program, he consulted small businesses in Amman, Jordan on organizational development and market penetration strategies into Western markets, managed a 200+ participant regional conference on female entrepreneurship, and developed partnerships with MIT, Duke, and University of Chicago to train Arab executives.

Prior to his work in Jordan, Mike managed internal operations of a documentary film foundation and consulted Brazilian executives on investor relations in Sao Paulo.  He graduated Summa Cum Laude from The American University in Washington, DC with a B.A. in International Relations and is currently a full time MBA student at Thunderbird School of Global Management focusing on strategy and organizational development consulting.  He currently serves as the Thunderbird student government Alumni Relations Chair.
